Situation:
Cirencester Park, shielded by a huge yew hedge, is close to the centre of the town and the church of St John the Baptist and Barton Mill Place itself is just a short walk along the millstream into the centre of Cirencester. It is constructed of mellow Cotswold limestone and set within landscaped grounds against a backdrop of mature trees bordering a delightful millpond.

The Anglo-Saxon chronicle believed that the former Roman city of Cirencester was still an administrative centre when the Saxons came in 577. They could have approached the town along one of three Roman roads which meet here - either Akeman Street, The Fosse Way or Ermine Street. In the middle ages the town became very prosperous with the wool trade and its success at this time has left many beautiful seventeenth and eighteenth century buildings as well as the imposing Church of St John the Baptist in the market square. Today Cirencester still retains its status as the leading market town in the Cotswolds with an abundance of good shops and now a Waitrose and a Tesco supermarket. Nearby are excellent golf courses, leisure centres and Parkland.

Communications:
Cirencester is well placed for access to the motorway network in the west of the country. It is about 19 miles from Cheltenham and 17 miles from Swindon. Fast trains to London (Paddington) from Kemble station, about five miles away, take about an hour and a half.
